Otherwise known as: wherein I interrupt our regular programming to show your our app, because yes, we have an app and I can finally show it to you.
Skimbox is an email app for busy people. It sifts through your work email, and puts the important stuff into your mainbox, and the newsletters, notifications, and forwarded joke emails from that guy you met at a networking event in 2010 into your skimbox.*
In addition to sorting your email, Skimbox makes managing it easier. Swipe an email to the right to archive it, to left to delete, or tap the checkbox icon to manage multiple emails at once.
Skimbox keeps all your Gmail labels, which you can view by tapping the menu icon. Deferred, deleted, and archived emails are accessed via the menu as well (archived emails are stored in your "All Mail" label).
To get new emails, pull down on the list. Skimbox also automatically refreshes emails every 15 minutes.
Let's see--what else am I missing? I guess a few warnings:
1) Skimbox V1 is a very rudimentary app. Useful features like compose and search are coming in V2, which, fingers crossed, will be out in early October. We're putting this version out to get your feedback on the features we do have, especially our classification.
2) Though we're building this app with enterprise-wide use in mind, V1 ain't got: Exchange, admin features, or an on-premise install. Exchange and admin features are coming with V2; on-premise is next inline.
Still want to try it? Excellent. We just submitted it to the app store, so it'll hopefully be available for direct download soon. Til then, you can clamber aboard our waitlist--as soon as we know it's available, we will notify you.
Or, if you don't want to wait at all, and live in Boston, New York, or the Bay Area, we'd love to have you try out the test version. Email christinan at ripariandata dot com for more details.
*Unless you regularly read any of these, in which case they'll go to your mainbox.
